Friday's Fabulous Finds

What's black and white and red all over? Why, this week's Fabulous Finds of course! This is a really lighthearted and eclectic mix (though eclectic is nothing new for me) that loosely follows a color theme of black and white and red. Or just black and white. Or just red and white. Or just...well, you get the idea. I had fun with these. I hope you enjoy them too! (If you want to catch up on previous Friday's Fab Finds, read here.)

The Diner Collection Black Cherries Apron

The Modern June Splat Mat

Okay, my husband can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times he's even seen me wear an apron. But man, if I had an apron like this, I'd probably sleep in it! It manages to be both cute and vintage-chic at the same time. I love it! And the splat mat is a great idea - it's a sort of oilcloth dropcloth that you can use from the time you have a baby in a highchair up till you have young kids playing with finger paints or playdoh - you name it - it protects your floor and looks good while doing so. Don't you just love products that multitask? Find these products and more cute ones like them at Modern June.

1940's Movie Star, John Barrymore (Drew's grandpa, you know!)

"A Chatterbox"' - page from a children's book, circa 1900

I fell in love with this glamorous Hollywood photo of legendary actor John Barrymore...so sophisticated. And it doesn't hurt that his granddaughter Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite actresses. (Did you see Domino magazine's feature on Drew's office? I loved it! You can view pics from the mag on this post at The Paris Apartment.) And this page from a children's book would be very cute in a frame in a child's room (or wherever you want it). These two pieces are part of an extensive collection by Full Circle Studios of vintage papers and photos - great for crafting or framing.

black and white silhouette on reclaimed wood

I love the white silhouette against the black background here. Something about the simplicity of this image and the homage to an unknown musician that really appeals to me. This piece is an original painting on reclaimed wood by Gonzo Don.

Red Poppies original watercolor painting

Red Cherries original watercolor painting

I love the simplicity of these watercolors by artist PrintmakerJenn. So cheerful and graphic at the same time, and also very affordable. (The red poppies piece is a huge original watercolor for only $60!) Definitely browse the rest of this artist's shop while you're there - it's so worth it.

"The Secret to Becoming..." silhouette print

If I have listed an Etsy artist in a previous Friday's Fabulous Finds post, I have a general rule that I don't list them again. I'm bending that rule for this artist, however (shhh! just this once). Vol.25 kicks out one print after another that really appeals to me - and I featured her work in a February Friday's Fab Finds post - but I couldn't help mentioning her again. I love this silhouette print, for the look of it, but also the message. It reads, "The secret to becoming who you wish to be begins with believing you can become who you wish to be." Love that! That belief helped me start my business just a few short months ago, so I find this print quite inspiring and affirming.

I'm off for an anniversary weekend with my hubby! Woohoo! Have a great weekend yourself, friend, and I'll see you back here on Monday!
