I just love the work of Rachel Ann Austin, who I recently discovered on Etsy. I love that she's a local artist (Portland) and her work is whimsical and sweet. Though her paintings are simple and innocent, I also feel that they would dial up the style quotient in my home significantly. She does a lot of map paintings, which are my favorites - basically a painting super-imposed over a map. I haven't seen these in person yet, but I intend to buy one after I've saved enough.
