it's painting day

just a quick note again, my friends...I have some fabulous things to post about this week, but for now I only have a moment to check in. My husband left Sunday for eight days out of town (gulp!) and I'm choosing to work on some major projects around the house as a way to cope with his absence. My wonderful mom is coming over first thing this morning and we will be painting the kitchen! (I've had the paint for months now, which is a little embarrassing.) Wish us luck! We'll be covering up some very dark colors with something much lighter...that's all I will say for now...and hope to bring you some before/after pics soon. In the meantime, I have another little redesign to show you, a review of a FAB book, and several other fun tidbits this week (including the answers to my mysterious crafting purchases...you guys are such good sports, taking guesses...and some very good ones!).

I am basically coping with my hubby's absence by staying as busy as is humanly possible - therefore am planning to paint the bathroom too. Too aggressive? Almost certainly! Overly optimistic? Absolutely. But hey, a woman's gotta have goals, you know. :-)

PS - Am definitely feeling like a Bad Blogger for not posting a photo with my prose TWO DAYS IN A ROW. Can you ever forgive me? How I wish that I could juggle all my balls in the air successfully all the time. >sigh<

  1. I take it you are feeling better? :o) Can't wait to see what color you chose for your kitchen. Painting a kitchen takes forever... I can see why you put it off for so long. Have fun with your mom.... will she stay the entire time your husband is gone?

  2. Marie - YES I am feeling better, thank goodness! And I am blessed to have my mom living about 10 minutes away from my house, so she can come over anytime. We'll see how much we can get done, and will most likely continue painting later in the week. :-)

  6. I want to see photos!!!! I'm wondering what you're going to do with your craft purchases.

I'm really bad about buying craft supplies- either I buy them and make whatever it is I wanted to make right away or they sit on my shelf for months/years. Ack! (at least it's fun to rediscover them!)

  7. Can't wait to see the paint job! You *are* ambitious.

I’m also itching (was going to say “dying” but that may be a little melodramatic, even for me. ;-) to see what your craft supplies turn in to. Maybe you’ll be glittering your kitchen cabinet doors…that would certainly be something surprising for the hubby to return to, LOL!!

  8. I hate when my husband's out of town. It always gives me much more respect for single moms. Hang in there!
